At Lotus Yurts, we are a close knit family of like-minded people who have a common passion for the quality of life which living in and using a yurt grants us.

As you may know, a yurt historically is a circular structure of felt and skins on a collapsible framework used by nomads of Mongolia.  A yurt provides four season options for living, working and playing-entertaining, all in a structure that can be either temporary or permanent.

A yurt could be a home, a cottage retreat, a spare room, a spa or a studio...

and could be used for camping, glamping, as well as summer camps, corporate events and even as an in-law suite or as a Bed and Breakfast!   In this unprecedented time of global pandemic, the functional yurt could even be used as a comfortable quarantine/isolation space.

The possibilities are limitless!

Authentic and Original Mongolian Yurts.

In Mongolian a yurt is referred to as a β€˜GER’ and serves as the home of the Mongolian nomads.  The Ger has evolved throughout Mongolian culture. Yurts have been a distinctive feature of life in Central Asia for at least three thousand years.

Our exquisite LOTUS YURTS are hand crafted using mainly organic natural products.

Crafted by Davaadarj and his family on a principle of fair trade.  Davaadarj is a master wood carver as well, and our yurts can be custom ordered with his fine carving detail work.  He also makes all the furniture which can be used in the yurt and this can be custom ordered as well.

Gers are sustainable, leaving a minimal footprint and utilize organic material such as wool felt insulation, cotton, natural wood and horse hair ropes.

At Lotus Yurts, we are a close knit family oriented team.

We provide set up assistance for all of our yurts including giving you valuable advice on maintenance.  This is Yogi, in the centre, surrounded by his team. Yogi is a master Stone Mason and hard landscape specialist and he was a wrestling coach for children in Mongolia before coming to Canada.

In addition to importing the yurts, Yogi provides excellent service in setting up the yurts and building custom platforms according to individual needs, along with his son, Bat-Norov, on the left, and his friend and assistant Bimba, on the right.

On average a yurt will last for dozens of years, when lived in and taken care of; they are low maintenance and will give years and years of joy and comfort.

Built with heart.

Rubai and Sumiran have enjoyed yurts since they first heard about them many years ago. They facilitate meditation events and appreciate the calming effect that is noticed while being inside a yurt for even just a short while. That is why they are super excited to share these beautiful yurts with you at this time!

They have known and meditated with their friend Yogi for several years, and often spoke together about bringing yurts from Yogi's homeland of Mongolia. Rubai and Sumiran are happy to be in a position to support Yogi, by sharing these fine yurts with people who will also enjoy them for years to come!
